The streets, lane ways, and even the gravel along the winding public path between these large residential buildings, all echo the curated, "pseudo-industrial-chic" that city planners and commercial developers alike aimed for. One wonders why they didn't reach further back into history, and embrace the indigenous lives, cultures, and existences that once thrived on these shores? Where are their threads in this new weaving that has taken place? Will the children in the echo's recording come to a deeper knowledge of this place?
This out-of-the-way path is a good location to sit and contemplate. When ready, continue north to Switchmen Street. Take in the sights and sounds of the massive courtyard across the street, complete with its "fake-cum-real" cedar tree trunk acting as one of the tall columns holding up the connection from one building to the other. Continue west on Switchmen St, crossing Quebec St, and turn left at Pullman Porter St.
