Feel free to walk along the public path on the right hand side, between the manicured plantings and the town homes of this large residential development. Do you notice the railway ties that make up the edges of the sidewalk? Do you notice how wide apart they are, how fake they are when compared to functional railways? At the time of the echo's recording, the curated, decorated recollection of past industrial uses was blown away by an impressive, and oppressive, exhaust fan that emerges from below the earth, across from the feature window of the Mountain Equipment Coop, beside residences, beside the water feature meant to calm the residents. One shudders to think of the decibels it emits. Go figure.
Head north, following the water feature to East 1st Avenue. When safe, cross the street and work your way through the residential buildings on the north side of the street, to the lane way behind and a narrow pathway to Switchmen St.
