Dubrovnik is in danger of losing its world heritage status because of the high volume of tourists – that would make a good poster, a single slogan in multiple languages, distributed around the city. There would be backlash.' These are some notes-to-self spoken aloud whilst walking through the Main Street in Dubrovnik. While overhearing voices on the street, observing things being bought and sold, recalling the history of the Co-Op movement, and thinking of the social and economic ebb and flow of the city over recent years, the text considers how and why Dubrovnik appeals to certain demographics.
