This walk imagines the USC Thornton Campus as a public "pitch" space, filled with real busking recordings from around the world which display the breadth and insight of this compelling soundscape form.

Popular NYC subway buskers often found duetting from across the tracks of the G line, providing a unique spatial experience.

Another New York subway busker, Simon 7 (of the percussion band Mecca Bodega) is here heard as a one-man band, playing the didgeridoo, cajon, and shakers.

Moving across the pond from NYC, we join the vibrant and multicultural London busking scene. This selection, an original song by "Mega Rocker" Cam Cole displays the virtuosity and ingenuity of London's solo artists.

The 14-piece (and constantly rotating) Galway Street Club describes themselves as a "busker collective" playing original and improvised music inspired by their members' roots in diverse genres from Irish fiddling to R&B.

Another band with strong nationalist roots, Clanadonia performs wildly energetic Scottish bagpipe and drum music live on the streets of Glasgow.

A quieter, curated busking experience can be found in the Canadian busking hotspot of Granville Island, which requires auditions of all its acts. Here singer-songwriter Steve Spender performs acoustically at a waterfront location.

Fairly high-energy for Granville Island fare, Maria in the Shower is a Romani-fusion accordion-bass duo, heard here performing their original song "She Rises".

The final stop on our busking tour is a selection of busker recordings from my home busking grounds of Pike Place Market, everything from jazz clarinet riffs to solo piano to virtuosic banjo/vocal performances.
