TO HEAVEN AND BACK is an immersive audio walk of the city steps in Pittsburgh's Troy Hill neighborhood. This self-guided, app-based walk invites you to listen in on the stories, struggles, memories, and dreams of Troy Hill residents as you weave your way up and down the steps that span the neighborhood. Along the stretches between each staircase, listen for hidden sound portraits that bring to life sites of interest in and around the neighborhood.
The walk takes roughly 90 minutes to complete, beginning and ending at the Rialto Street steps. See www.TroyHillSteps.com for a route map.
Non-accessible route - use at your own risk. Stairs on this route are missing handrails and can be unsteady in spots. Pay attention to your surroundings at all times. Please watch your step, and make sure to bring a flashlight if you will be walking after sunset.
TO HEAVEN AND BACK was created by Erin Anderson and Danny Bracken in collaboration with Troy Hill Citizens as part of Steps We Take, a program of Bike Pittsburgh with the Pittsburgh Office of Public Art. This program is generously supported by the Hillman Foundation.
