Voice Memos for the Future is a socially engaged documentary arts project that is accessible for free on mobile devices.
You're invited to connect to nature in locations chosen by the interviewees: Biscayne National Park, Crandon Park, Hollywood Beach, Legion Park, Enchanted Forest Park, and Morningside Park. The audio recordings are only accessible when you visit the exact places which are being discussed.
Collectively the voices form a site-specific group portrait of 6 young people who love Miami-Dade, despite the concern and anxiety that they feel as climate change and real estate development squeezes everyone along coastal areas like ours.
Voice Memos for the Future is a time capsule of messages for Miami residents of today, and those who will be here in the far future.
Support for this project was provided by WAAM through the Knight Foundation Arts Challenge Grant and Oolite Arts The Ellies Grant.
