You are hearing a soundwalk for those who are asked to stay. For those held in place by circumstance, by paper, by policy. For those who know that longing often begins with a sound. Audio travels freely— Crossing borders, time zones, continents With no luggage, no checkpoint, no translation. You are entering distant places mapped onto familiar grounds. A call to prayer in Usak echoes in a parking garage. Youthful laughter in Yakutsk lingers between gravestones. The pulse of a taxi radio in Tuti island resounds through a theater’s bones. You pause, listen, and resume your walk In between the quiet collisions of here and elsewhere. You’ve always been here: a campus that breathes with many lives, A landscape re-tuned by distance. May you wander even while standing still. May you be borderless—

Start at Morley Circle, and feel free to wander around that area for a minute or so. Then, make your way around to the front of the science building and walk along the front of the building to the middle walkway. Walk up to the halfway point and turn left where the sidewalk diverges. Walk up toward main street. If the piece hasn't finished yet, take your time making this walk; you can stop in the middle of the science quad and look around or just take the walk at a leisurely pace. Then, when the first piece ends, cross main street, and start walking towards the '62 Center. Walk up the steps as if you were going to enter the lobby and walk around the side of the building. Circle all the way around to the back entrance, past and around greylock (the studios not the dorms), and make your way back to the front of the theater. Feel free to stop and appreciate your surroundings at any point along this walk; the music should allow for plenty of time, especially if you walk fast like I do.

A nighttime walk around Williams campus to reflect on your day and meditate on tomorrow.(Take it as a break from studying!) Start at the center of Greylock Quad and loop back to it. Go South on South St., turn left at Agard and proceed to Walden St., then turn left and walk up Spring Street. Cross Route 2 and walk in front of Sawyer all the way to Mission Park Drive. Turn left, then turn at Chapin Hall Drive and walk between the two Frosh Quad buildings.Go south and cross the street by Paresky and continue until you arrive back in Greylock Quad.

Sawyer Library to David & Joyce Milne Public Library Cover image is of the design on membership cards Walking directions: -Start in front of Sawyer, on the side closest to Main St -Walk towards Paresky -When you reach Paresky, turn left and head up the hill towards Main St, where they recently cut down a tree -Turn right at the top of the hill and walk along Main St, passing in front of Maud’s house -When you reach Stetson Court, cross the street at the crosswalk -Continue walking towards the roundabout, passing in front of Wood House -Cross the street at the crosswalk and continue up the hill -When you reach the public library, turn left into the parking lot -Follow this sidewalk until reaching a path branching off to the right -Take this short path to the Reading Garden and sit at one of the benches -Remain at the Reading Garden until the piece is over
