THE WOMEN OF DUNBLANE CATHEDRAL GRAVEYARD

room 12 ECHOES

Location: Dunblane, Stirling, Scotland, United Kingdom

Brought to you by the Society of Friends of Dunblane Cathedral.

As you walk around the graveyard, listen to the varied lives of some of the women buried here. Look out for headstone numbers on site to match those on the title of each Echo.

There is a programme of repairs in progress at the site and some headstones are fenced off, by Historic Environment Scotland, for safety reasons. The site and headstones are checked regularly by HES staff.

If the numbered headstone has fencing around it, the Echo will play on the out side, do not enter the fenced off area.

Care is advised while walking around the graveyard as the ground can be uneven due to the nature of the site. Suitable footwear should be worn and please do not lean on or against any of the memorials. Care should also be taken in low light as the site has no external lighting.

Credit for images: Dunblane Museum, Ewing Wallace and authors own. All biographies written by Rosalind Anderson.

The stories have been narrated by volunteers Catherine, Caz, Irene, Jessica, Julie, Roslyn, Sue, Suzee and Sandy, many thanks to all!

Encounter 3053102

One ordinary morning, I had to drag my tired body and sleepy eyes to a graduate event in the school auditorium. It was strange that I didn't see any of my classmates. There were all the new faces I didn't know. I pulled out my phone and checked my email. It wasn't misplaced, however... Damn it! There was a sign on the entrance of the auditorium for freshman orientation...
