Mackó brummog: – Irgum-burgum, bundám rongyos, ez abszurdum!

Verket är en ljudande kalejdoskop komponerat av fragment som reflekterar min uppfattning och erfarenheter av nuet, dåtiden och en möjlig framtid. I min åtanke finns Samuel Becketts I väntan på Godot, till vilken jag haft en särskild relation till under hela mitt liv. Det absurda hos Beckett fångar och inspirerar. Godot utmanar en till att förbli tvivlande, bejakande och nyfiken på allt: musik, funktion, tradition, ljud, litteratur, konst, sinnen, känslor, talang, idéer, visioner, ideologier, religioner, vetenskap, symboler, ordning och kaos.

Godot finns, har funnits och kommer alltid att finnas!

Tamás Ungváry (f. 1936) är en ungersk-svensk tonsättare inom fältet datormusik och elektroakustisk musik. Hans kompositioner har framförts i hela världen, bland annat på festivalerna Warszawa-höst, Zagreb-Biennalen, Wien Modern, Inventionen i Berlin och Nordiska Musikdagarna. Bland uppmärksammade verk kan nämnas S É U L (1972), Basic Barrier (1973), Traum des Einsamen (1975), L’aube des Flammes (1985) och Grattis (1995). Tamás Ungváry inledde sin yrkesbana som dirigent. Han har arbetat som lärare och konstnärlig ansvarig på Stiftelsen för Elektroakustisk Musik i Sverige (numera Elektronmusikstudion – EMS). 1985 grundade han, tillsammans med koreografen Peter Rajka, forskargruppen Kineto Auditory Communication Research, KACOR, på Danshögskolan (senare KTH), med fokus på konstnärlig/teknisk kommunikation inom olika datasystem. Under åren 1991–2001 ledde han utbildningen i "Computermusik und neue Medien" vid Universität für Musik och Darstellende Kunst in Wien, Österrike.

The work is a sound kaleidoscope composed by fragments and reflects my perception and experience of the present, past and a possible future. Thinking about Samuel Beckett’s Waiting for Godot that I have a lifelong relationship to. Beckett’s absurdity has captured and inspired me. Godot challenge you to be doubting/affirmingly curious about everything: music, function, tradition, sound, literature, art, senses, emotions, talents, ideas, visions, ideologies, religions, science, symbols, order and chaos.

Godot is, was and will always be!

Tamás Ungváry (b. 1936) is a Hungarian-Swedish composer of computer music and electroacoustic music. His compositions have been performed worldwide, on festivals such as the Warsaw Autumn, Zagreb Biennale, Wien Modern, Inventionen in Berlin and Nordic Music Days. Notable works include S É U L (1972), Basic Barrier (1973), Traum des Einsamen (1975), L'aube des Flammes (1985) and Grattis (1995). Tamás Ungváry began his career as a conductor. He has worked as a teacher and artistic director at the Foundation for Electroacoustic Music in Sweden (now Elektronmusikstudion - EMS). In 1985, together with the choreographer Peter Rajka, he founded the research group Kineto Auditory Communication Research, KACOR, at the Academy of Dance (later KTH), focusing on artistic/technical communication within various computer systems. 1991–2001 he led the course in "Computer music and neue Medien" at the Universität für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Wien, Austria.
