The Object Monologues is a geolocated audio experience where the personality, idiosyncrasies, passions, loves and losses of landmarks and significant public objects are brought to life. Created site-specifically, the character of each landmark object is crafted from historical research. We hope you find joy in delight as you wander, listen and imagine.

As you make your way around Colac Otway Shire, you’ll be able to listen to the inner thoughts of some of our most beloved landmarks. If you can, listen through headphones so you can enjoy the binaural sound design experience.

Meet Francis, the prima donna of Red Rock Regional Gallery and Theatre. Francis has the lowdown of the local glitterati and really knows who’s who in the local zoo. This is a real media scoop because the first time Francis speaks publicly about her relationship with Alexander her supporting wall, and reveals how she truly feels about the Juliette the French Chandelier.

Francis the Stained Glass Window - RRRTAG

Ros is the Fountain at Colac Botanic Garden. Find out about her relationship with the pond, the fish the roses, and what happens to a fountain who laughs with their spout full.

Ros the Fountain at Colac Botanic Gardens

You’re about to hear from the seat at Birregurra Railway Station and all the things she has seen and heard over her long life, including the current “frissant” with her neighbour.
