S-Bahn Tracks (Music To Look Out The Window To)
is a geolocated sound"walk", structured around and composed for Zone A of Berlin's S-Bahn train system. Each stop on the map has been imbued and encoded with a given note. As the listening passenger moves through the various geolocational zones, they trigger various notes and thus form a site specific melody for each individual listener.
The impetus behind this piece lies in a desire to rejuvenate the transitory act; an act that is a household name in most Berliners' day to day routines. How can we imbue mundane activity with a newfound sense of wonder and curiosity? How can we see a new angle of the mundane, to rejuvenate our day to day experiences?
On this map there are 48 different stops, with a large factorial outcome- depending on where the listening passenger is heading.
