What are you afraid of?

Inside houses, apartments, schools, hospitals and office buildings, running and walking, we count the steps, we climb.

How do we keep our balance? What if we fall?

How do you rest?

Night birds sing themselves into our dreams. Waking, a memory lingers, a melody twists and turns.

Look around you. Notice stillness. Practice letting go.

What sustains you?

Weaving together rituals that ground us: grinding coffee, brewing tea, chopping herbs, steeping leaves, pouring hot water. We start the day, the sun tracing its path from east to west.

How do you heal?

Hot water releases tension. The sound of running water releases our voices. Singing in the shower, blowing bubbles in the bath, indoor spaces resonant with long held notes.

Winter turns liquid to solid — only the force of gravity keeps water flowing. Beneath the frozen water, turtles and fish sleep, moments of melting quickening movement.

What are you afraid of?

Counting each step as we climb, gathering courage, marking our progress. Days pass, we change. What once seemed impossible is now within our grasp.

From a great height, we see far, like a bird of prey circling.
