Welcome to the Table Cape Listening Project, a sound walk music composition by Rachel Meyers, commissioned by the North West Business Council.
It was inspired after a residency of deep listening to the area, and is a combination of music, field recordings, and sound manipulations that creatively respond to the area.
As you arrive in the carpark, the audio will begin playing through the Echoes.xyz app on your mobile phone or listening device - all you need to do is pop in some headphones and press 'Start Walk.' As you move through the walk linking Table Cape Lighthouse with the Lookout or vice versa, the audio will automatically begin to play. The speed at which you walk will dictate how the tracks overlap and intersect with each other, so every time it is listened there are small variations.
Once you reach the end of the walk, the track that you are listening to will gradually fade out. Once it is finished, we suggest that for your return journey, you take out the headphones and simply listen deeply to the sounds around you.
Or start creating tours, treasure hunts, POI maps... Just let your imagination guide you.SIGN UP
