Vis Tavern

Where the driving school stands today — or perhaps something else by now — there used to be a tavern called VIS. This is where our story of Slavko comes to an end. Thank you for taking the time to walk through the city with us and look into its past.

The Man Who Loved the Pannonian Plain

Subotica
This is the story of Slavko Matković, an artist who remained closely connected to Subotica throughout his life. For him, art did not belong only in galleries and institutions - it could be found in the street, in the clouds, in people, chance encounters and everyday objects. He was one of the founders of the neo-avant-garde group Bosch+Bosch and one of the key artists of Subotica’s art scene in the second half of the 20th century. This audio story takes us through Subotica, following traces of his life and work - from streets and clouds to performances, poetry, and the experimental art group Bosch+Bosch. Through places connected to his work, we encounter an artist who pushed the boundaries between art and everyday life far beyond the walls of galleries.
