Status. 1 category. Species nearing extinction. Habitat. One lively population was in the Western part, also singular creatures were found in the North-West. Biotope. Burnt out forest spaces and very dry meadows. Biology. In spring, while mating, the males attract the females by sharp, fluctuating sounds and perching about. During mating season, they often become more aggressive to smaller species. The creatures are yellowish green in colour, with two stripes made up of black double dots, the scales are coarse. The offspring mature at 4-5 years of age. Feeds on plant based food, roots. Abundance. With the biotopes gone, the populations have a small chance of restoring themselves. Protection. Preserving the place of finding is imperative. Level of dangerousness: 2. Possibly not dangerous to humans.
