Osteria Vecchio Vicolo
I chose this restaurant not because of its nice food (although the food is indeed nice), but because I celebrated my 20th birthday here with my friends and feel the warmth from local Italians here on that special day. The owner of the restaurant first made an exception to allow us eat outside food in his restaurant, my cake. But my cake got smashed on the way here and the owner of the restaurant served a dessert cake as my birthday present, and sang a birthday song to me with all the staff and guestes. We talked a lot about italian culture and florentine experiences during and after the meal. He also helped me to practice my italian. I felt the relaxed attitude of the local people. I was attracted by their happiness, because only their own life is happy enough, they will be able to deliver the output of positive feelings to others. They embodies the local atmosphere of life in Florence, which I felt a strong sense of contection with the local people and culture. -- Zoey
