I did my soundscape in the Harrison-lecaine basement. Every time I walk through the halls, I’m pulled in many directions by the sounds of people practicing all sorts of live music. Sometimes I’m struck by something I hear, and I’ll hang around the source of the sound to listen in. I tried to replicate that in my soundscape. There are various recordings that come and go, and then at the end I have something that really piqued my interest and I had to listen to.

Binaural Soundscape Compositions 2019: Queen's University

Kingston, Ontario, Canada

Soundscape compositions created for binaural headphone listening by students in MUSC255 (Electroacoustic Composition) in February-March 2019. The composition assignment called for engagement with a specific location on campus, gathering sounds from that place and working with them in the studio to create a sonic portrait of the site. Binaural audio requires headphones for listening, and should give a sense of sounds occurring 360 degrees around you.
