In this place, 2000 years ago, there was a forest inhabited by deer, badgers and hares. In this place 200 years ago there was a river with fish, beavers and nutria. In this place 40 years ago there was a city slaughterhouse with pigs, cows and horses.

When you walk in this area, do you feel the presence of all these animals? Have you ever thought about the animals that died in the slaughterhouse? What did you feel when you thought about it? How do you feel when you think about it now? Are we able to remember all these creatures that live next to us? How do we keep their stories alive?

Maybe try this: Look around you. Look for a stone, a stick, or a handful of earth. Pick up one of these things, think about the animals that used to live here. Try to transfer your intentions to the stone, the stick, the earth. Put them back in their place, changing their position slightly. Look around you. How many of these small shifts have been made by others before you?
