A Walk in the Park by Katie Rogers

Programme Note This composition is inspired by the atmosphere of a park, with different sections focussing on different types of sounds that can be heard in this setting. In the first section, I wanted to expand on the bird sounds that can be heard in the background and explore the different timbres that can be created with these. In the second section, the focus is on a pond in this park and various water timbres are explored. In the third section, there’s a focus on human sounds such as speech and footsteps.

Biography I’m Katie! I’m a BSc Music Technology and Audio Production student at the University of Kent and I recently completed my second year of study. I’ve been playing the piano for 13 years now and in recent years have been learning how to compose and produce music. I also love playing guitar in my spare time.
