Ringbahn Melody (Big Loop)
A train based dronal melody, structured by and composed for the infamous Berlin Ringbahn.
This is a geolocated sound"walk", structured around and composed for Berlin's S-Bahn Ringbahn. Each stop on the map has been imbued and encoded with a given triad of tones. As the listening passenger moves through the various geolocational zones, they trigger various triads and thus form a site specific melody for each individual listener.
The impetus behind this piece lies in a desire to rejuvenate the transitory act; an act that is a household name in most Berliners' day to day routines. How can we imbue mundane activity with a newfound sense of wonder and curiosity? How can we see a new angle of the mundane, to rejuvenate our day to day experiences?
