Sewall Point

1 sound

We are now passing sewall point on the left and entering Wolfeboro Bay. In 1764, colonial governor John Wentworth established a province road from Portsmouth to Wolfeboro and built a summer home in the town, giving Wolfeoboro claim to the title of “Oldest Summer Resort in America”. Ahead of the ship, you can see the white buildings of downtown Wolfeboro and, to the right, the campus of brester academy, a private college preparatory school. The town is named for British general James Wolfe, killed at the Battle of Quebec during the French and Indian War.
