In the 1880s, Arthur Wakerley, a local architect, had a vision to create a 'model village' here. At that time this area was called North Evington but now we know it as Spinney Hills. This model village was to contain good houses with factories in between them. Let's explore some of Wakerley's factories as well as some built by others.
