RUIDO DE PAPEL / PAPER NOISE / BRUIT DE PAPIER.
RUIDO DE PAPEL / PAPER NOISE / BRUIT DE PAPIER, is a collaborative project facilitated by the artist-in-residence Amanda Gutierrez, which will display an ongoing augmented audio and stop-motion animation project. Her artworks elaborate on feminist initiatives and artists who denounce gender violence, using the public space as a forum. The project emphasizes the diverse tactics of socially engaged practices that embrace collage as a tool of resistance.
RUIDO DE PAPEL / PAPER NOISE / BRUIT DE PAPIER will produce an augmented sonic collage featuring voices and soundtracks produced by the Argentinian sound collective, #Vivas, and the sound artist Viv Corringham –featuring previous sound collaborations and Vivas ongoing collective works.
Throughout the residency, short cut-out animations will be produced in the gallery, using the space as an open stop-motion animation studio. The short animations will be created day by day and will be exhibited as video projections that will evolve weekly as an audiovisual palimpsest.
RUIDO DE PAPEL / PAPER NOISE / BRUIT DE PAPIER augmented reality features the following soundtracks:
Viv Corringham, 9 Women. A collaborative walk with Amanda Gutierrez and Carmen Vazquez in the neighborhood of Azcapotzalco in Mexico City.
