I went to Thailand to study when I was 18 and I had never been to another country before and I didn't know what it was like abroad. When I got to Thailand and went to university and met a lot of Thai friends, I found that a lot of Thai people wanted to be friends with Chinese people and some wanted Chinese guys/girlfriends. Although I know that some Thais don't like Chinese people because some Chinese tourists are very low quality and talk very loudly, but young Thais like Chinese people and I thought, "Do foreigners like Chinese people? But when I came to study in the UK, I found that it was completely different from what I thought because the UK is a predominantly white country and I could feel that white people didn't like Asians very much. I don't have to have foreign friends, and I'm happy with whoever I'm with. That's how my two experiences have changed my self-perception.
