Emotion Swings by Ellen Rose

Programme Note: My idea for this piece was to take listeners on a journey of someone’s emotions. It is about someone feeling calm and content in their life before having underlying feelings of anxiety and fear, which get worse as time goes on. You might feel these emotions too as you listen to this piece. The static sounds I used in the first section of the piece represent these underlying feelings of anxiety and fear, as they don’t happen regularly, but a longer static sound comes in at the end to represent the anxiety and fear getting to a new level.

Biography: My name is Ellen Rose. I’m currently a Second Year Music Technology and Audio Production student at the University of Kent. After university, I would like to go into sound engineering and production, as it is something I really enjoy doing. Although, I would like to venture out into other areas of music as well.
