Stadio Artemio Franchi
The Artemio Franchi stadium is home to ACF Fiorentina, the premier football club in Florence. It was named after the former president of the Italian Football Federation, Artemio Franchi. Known as the Viola’s, many legendary players have adorned the team shirt such as Stevan Jovetić and David de Gea. I selected the stadium because I felt most connected with the city. During football matches, there are no words to describe the love that is expressed for the team and city. Football brings people together, no matter their background. I felt like I belonged with everyone, as I sat waving my purple scarf in the packed stands. (Keshav Mody)
