This humpback whale recordings was made in September 2010 on the Gold Coast. It is extracted from 4 months of recordings made off Mermaid Beach in 10m of water. The recordings were part of a JASCO Applied Sciences project that received funding from the Australian Marine Mammal Centre. The purpose of this component of the work was to characterise the soundscape of the nearshore environment, including the presence of humpback whales.
