[Jewish descendant, educator and guide highlighting the long-lasting history of the space and the importance of not limiting it only to the Nazi or post-war period.] “I think what’s interesting is that we talked a lot about Plaszow as it was in 1942-1945 and then how it looks today. But obviously that’s not like the end of all of this site, I think it’s really important, you know– my tour starts in 1800, with the szańce, earthworks from the Austrian-Hungarian empire, I think that’s important to mention. And then the cemetery, and then it was a camp, but also you can go back further, when there was just nature, or you can go back, you know, it’s in the area of these like pagan rituals going on on the Kopiec Krakusa. So I think there’s something– we spent too much time thinking about this site as like concentration camp and then a park today, while I think a broader or longer way of thinking about it is also important.”
