The viewing platform at Point Cartwright Reserve is a popular spot to check the surf, take your morning coffee, watch the late afternoon summer storms or to unwind after walking a circuit of the reserve. You may have noticed that along the railing in this section is a local tradition of remembering loved ones. People like to create metal plaques and bring their memories to the seaside. The lighthouse itself was initially constructed in 1978 and is unmanned, requiring regular maintenance once every four months.
