The Maroochy River basin covers an area of 630km sq. The wetland and surrounding tributaries is part os an area described as the ‘Blue Heart'. The Blue Heart spans more than 5000 hectares and is aimed to preserve the benefits of the natural ecosystem of the wetland areas, whilst improving human and environmental health and working toward a zero net emissions target.
