This sound walk covers a variety of study spaces across McMaster University's campus, each with its unique atmosphere and soundscape. You will move from the dense silence and collaborative study areas in Mills Library, through the busy tables between Burridge Gym and the pool in the Ivor Wynne Centre, and the large, airy mezzanine in the Peter George Centre. Along the way, campus life sounds continue: The clinking of cups and soft conversation in The Grind Coffee Shop, the bustle and conversation in The Hub, and the quiet flutter of plants in the Greenhouse in MDCL, all a calming natural environment. This walk inspires you to notice how activity, space, and sound build student life as students transport their traditional classrooms between spaces on campus. Each study space is a distinctive environment for focus, teamwork, and building connections.
