Maurice Foss Building

Built in 1978, this building is currently undergoing an extensive internal redevelopment. Once completed, it will continue to be used by the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, primarily for industrial design courses.

Dr. Maurice Foss – was former Deputy Director of Coventry Polytechnic and one of the university’s Honorary Life Fellows. He came to Coventry in 1958 when he joined Coventry Technical College. In 1960 he moved to the Lanchester College of Technology as Head of the dept. of Chemistry and Metallurgy. Dr Maurice was Dean of the Lanchester Polytechnic Faculty of Applied Science In 1978 he was appointed Chairman of the Science, Technology and Society Board, of the council for National Academic Awards. He was also Honorary President of the East Warwickshire branch of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy.
