Harrison-Le Caine, Basement Hallway - Karlynn Charette

1 sound

This is a soundscape of Queen’s University building Harrison LeCaine Hall in the basement wing of practice rooms. The piece begins by exiting the studio and walking up and down the hallway until 9 minutes after the listener is packing up their locker for the night and leaving the building via the elevator. Different mixes used made surround style sound; music and sounds will shift quickly to left, right up and down to get a sense of perception. Using the Ambisonic Toolkit plugin within Reaper made it easy to create an all around sound. Volume changes to pan from room to room when changing whichever instruments are practicing.
