Un Caffe Bistrot
Un Caffe Bistrot is a quaint bar located in the Piazza della Santissima Annunziata. Although the bar is small, it possesses a lot of character. For me, visiting Un Bistrot Caffe for the first time with my friends felt like a crucial stepping stone in familiarizing myself with Florentine culture and hospitality. Not only were the staff incredibly kind to us as American abroad students, but they also served amazing traditional focacce. As my best friend and I continued to visit this bar, we encouraged each other to further immerse ourselves in the Italian culture, picking up slang and common mannerisms from other bar regulars. I fell in love with the way the staff at this bar welcomed the few travelers who frequent it, constantly playing classic American songs and making conversation with us. While I once felt like an outsider to Florentine culture, becoming a regular at this bar has made me feel like a part of a shared space for locals, and I will always hold it close to my heart!
