A Trip to Lazy - Nolan Shin

1 sound

For my composition I decided to try and create a soundscape that mimicked the sounds of getting food at Lazy. Throughout most of the soundscape there’s almost always background cooking noises and chatter, I kept this in since it truly is what Lazy sounds like all the time. But I wanted to play around with these background sounds so I decided to automate the Orbit plugin to make the subject feel like their walking past the kitchen or people talking. I also tried to bring in more processed sounds, through reverb, EQ etc... so these soundbytes would stand out to the listener and make it easier for them to relate to the location. Moving further these soundbytes begin to dominate the piece, so I put these sounds in different places around the listener to keep it interesting. I also added other sound clips, like the woman calling out food and the noises of utensil dispensers as well as cashier related noises to make it feel like your actually buying food. Towards the end I reverse the background noise and some of the soundbytes so it almost feels like you're going backwards in time. Then the soundscape ends how it began, by walking back out of Victoria Hall.
