Created by German sculptor Dietrich Klinge, Gordian VII is cast in bronze, preserving the texture of the original wood mold. The piece captures the tension between grounded weight and weightlessness, particularly apparent through the sculpture’s open chest area. Natural, wood-like textures and metallic sounds represent the sculpture's physical materials, while evolving rhythms and environmental sounds reflect its interaction with the surrounding space. Inspired by Klinge's fusion of ancient organic forms with contemporary materials, the composition mirrors the complexity of the Gordian Knot myth by layering interwoven textures that gradually resolve.
