My composition is written for Observing, a sculpture by Dutch artist Hanneke Beaumont. This figure, though human-like, is intentionally ageless, genderless, and clothed in timeless clothing. It is meant to act as a lens into the shared human experience. The name Observing suggests something deeper than looking or watching: it implies reflection, memory, and synthesis of past and present. My music captures this interplay with grainy texture, sustained notes, and evolving timbres to create a floating, introspective atmosphere. This piece narrates the act of observing through three distinct sections: a moment triggering nostalgia, a journey into the past, and a return to the present, now altered by what has been remembered.
