Park Hill Flats is the largest Grade 2* listed building in Europe, but it has seen better days. It currently stands part occupied, part renovated and a large part of it derelict. Local artist Gary Hindley has brightened up the lifeless wing along Rhodes Street and Duke Street with his art installation of former Park Hill faces.

Peering out of the old window frames on the upper floors are giant images of former residents, including long-serving caretaker Grenville Squires.

You can find out more about Gary Hindley’s installation on the BBC website including a recorded interview of the artist talking about it.
