Julia Aplin invites you to a moment of embodied suspension — a not-doing-anything hang with the urban forest.
Mixing the radical act of resting with restorative forest bathing, this aesthetic experience was inspired by the writing of Jill Riddell.
“What if we promoted parks as places to rest? Not to meditate or be mindful--I mean go for that if you want—but to sleep. Soundly…complete with dreams…with sunlight flickering overhead through the leaves of the trees.” Ridell, 2021
Experienced forest hammock napper, Julia Aplin will introduce you to your support trees, help you into your hammock, watch over you and your stuff and gently re-awaken you at the designated time.
After your nap, you will be invited to sign the guest book, write a message for the trees that supported your time of repose and/or speak with Julia and fellow nappers about your experience.
“Disrupt and push back against a system that views you as a machine. You are not a machine. You are a divine human being. WE WILL REST!” Tricia Hersey of the Nap Ministry
