History Completed in 1969, the Cataraqui building is one of two buildings at Queen’s named after waterways in the Kingston region; the other being the Rideau building.

Academics and Student Life Queen’s School of Nursing began offering nursing courses in 1941 and has occupied the Cataraqui building since 1982. There is a Clinical Education Centre where Nursing, Physical and Occupational Therapy and Medical students can practice their skills on volunteer patients. There is also a health simulation lab where Nursing students can practice skills and procedures on computerized mannequins.
