In this opening section, climate scientist and local resident Matthew Topsfield gives an introduction to the machair, whilst Angus MacDonald sings a traditional homeland song in praise of Uist Uist Eilean Uibhist Mo Rùin (My beloved island of Uist) that was recorded in 1982.
