For my Binaural Soundscape piece, I decided to use two different locations: Kingston Hall and the underground parking below Nixon Field. By using two very different sounding sources, I thought I could create a cool transformation. Starting with Kingston Hall, it is a much quieter area with lots of things to interact with, therefore by interacting with the environment around me it created a kind of unnatural sound to the piece which is what I wanted the piece to start with (little to no processed sounds). I then moved to the parking garage where there was lots of natural sounds and I did not have to interact with the environment around me as much to create cool sounds. I wanted to use the parking garage sounds in the latter half of my piece to create that sense of transformation. I found that going from the unnatural to natural sounds made my piece sound much better.
