Also known as "The Old Custom House", this is the oldest landmark in California! After being built in 1827, The Custom House served as the site where U.S. Commodore John Drake Sloat raised the American flag after declaring California officially a part of the United States. The Custom House now serves as a museum, as well as a popular tourist attraction.
