Owned by Paul and Geneva Knauls, Geneva’s was known to many as “a place where friends meet.” The venue was a hotspot for dancing, jam sessions, and the site of an unforgettable block party celebrating the Portland Trail Blazers 1977 NBA Championship. Geneva’s basketball and mushball teams featured a who’s who of Albina’s community leaders. A marquee sign on the building celebrated community member’s birthdays, among other local announcements.
