The Venetian iteration of Archaeology of the Inner Voices unfolds as a series of sound images across three locations that touch upon the life of Veronica Franco: Ponte delle Tette, Campo Santa Maria Formosa and Campo Sant’Agnese. Sant’Agnese carries a trace of her early family and parish milieu; Santa Maria Formosa opens onto the space of her public, social and literary presence; Ponte delle Tette establishes a more indirect relation to the broader Venetian regime of visibility surrounding the female body, within which the position of the cortigiana onesta could also be understood. Today, these social bonds no longer operate as a clear historical reading of space; they remain incomplete, partially obscured, yet still capable of resonance.
The real sounds of each location — water, footsteps, echoes, the voices of passers-by, architectural noises and the chance rhythms of the city — are not merely events that occur in front of the microphone. Through the location as an architectural instrument, they shape the ECHO sound image: they direct the rhythm from which patterns emerge, selecting lines from the sonnets of Veronica Franco, while also guiding an asemantic layer of random speech, a feedback loop of letters, syllables, breaths and vocal fragments. This layer does not produce meaning directly, yet neither does it exclude it. At moments, it acts as a whisper, an associative address, an almost-word between the noise of the city and the disassembled structure of the poem.
In this intermediate space, Veronica Franco lives on not simply as a historical image, but as a phenomenon of voice — something that can inhabit space again through sound, even in the absence of the body. The inner voice is not enclosed within anyone. It travels between poem, location, algorithm and the listening ear.

Beneška izvedba projekta Archaeology of the Inner Voices nastaja kot serija zvočnih slik na treh lokacijah, ki se dotikajo življenja Veronice Franco: Ponte delle Tette, Campo Santa Maria Formosa in Campo Sant’Agnese. Lokacija Sant’Agnese nosi sled njenega zgodnjega družinskega in župnijskega okolja; lokacija Santa Maria Formosa odpira prostor njene javne, družbene in literarne prisotnosti; lokacija Ponte delle Tette pa odpira posredno navezavo na širši beneški režim vidnosti ženskega telesa, znotraj katerega je bilo mogoče razumeti tudi položaj cortigiane oneste. Te družbene vezi danes ne učinkujejo kot jasna zgodovinska razlaga prostora; so nepopolne, delno zabrisane, vendar še vedno sposobne odzvena.
Realni zvoki posameznih lokacij — voda, koraki, odmevi, glasovi mimoidočih, arhitekturni šumi in naključni ritmi mesta — niso samo dogodki, ki se zgodijo pred mikrofonom. Skozi lokacijo kot arhitekturni instrument oblikujejo ECHO zvočno sliko: usmerjajo ritem, iz katerega nastajajo vzorci, ki izbirajo vrstice sonetov Veronice Franco, hkrati pa usmerjajo tudi asemantično plast naključnega govorjenja, feedback loop črk, zlogov, izdihljajev in glasovnih drobcev. Ta plast ne proizvaja pomena neposredno, vendar ga tudi ne izključi. Na trenutke deluje kot šepet, asociativni nagovor, skoraj-beseda med šumom mesta in razgrajeno pesemsko strukturo.
Tako v tem vmesnem prostoru Veronica Franco živi naprej, ne zgolj kot zgodovinska podoba, temveč kot fenomen glasu — nekaj, kar se lahko znova naseli v prostoru prek zvoka, čeprav telesa ni več. Notranji glas ni zaprt v nikomer. Potuje med pesmijo, lokacijo, algoritmom in ušesom, ki posluša.
