Butter Market

The Butter Market was built in 1807 to a design by John Nash who was working in Sussex at the time. The building has been much changed over the years. In 1900 a further storey was added above and the two flanking structures with niches were altered. The upper storey was once occupied by the Chichester Art School. The building is Grade II listed and the recently restored building received the Council Heritage Award. It was reopened in 2011.
