Grounding centres on the relief model of Lake Bled, a site that compresses the surrounding landscape into miniature form. The field recording captures the ambient sonic environment of this point before being interwoven with percussion performed by the composer. Three handbells are prostrated and struck to create resonant textures, alongside gestures that imitate the character of snare drum and wire brushes. Digital processing, including bit-crushing, phasing, and reverberation, transforms these materials into a work that reflects on place through abstraction rather than representation. Recorded on 21 June 2026 between 13:15 and 13:45 using a Zoom H5 recorder.
