A pond, almost big enough to be a lake? Every living thing on the Road thrived on the water that flowed from here. It was clean, and clear; clearer than the water in that park you just passed.

Fae Road

“Fae Road” is an augmented reality sound walk that follows your journey with a land spirit named “Fae”. Guided by her voice, you'll travel across the locales of South Brisbane to track down a number of "memories", helping Fae discover what happened to her home. This sound walk is an assessment piece created by Katrina Padernos for the 2993QCM Creative Audio course, Griffith University. The narrative centres around themes of urbanization and environmental degradation, powered by the listener’s imagination and brought to life with audio recordings depicting scenes across five different main locations. Each scene acts as a brief memory Fae shares, describing what the landscape would have been like in a faraway time.
