The Orangery and Little Woodlands

1 sound

On the right is The Orangery. It was built by John Warner, a London foundry owner who made Hoddesdon his home in the 19th century, building a house called Woodlands and laying out extensive gardens. Now a private house, The Orangery in John Warner’s day could house orange trees 20 feet tall. A little further on, also the right, is Little Woodlands, originally the stable block of Woodlands, and now also a private house.
