Status. 4 category. Rare, insufficiently investigated species. Habitat. Only 6 isolated unabundant populations are known to reside in the South- East territories. Biotope. Various swampy water pools, old river beds, sludgy ditches, canals with thick water foliage, bogs. Biology. Species resides in still and rarely moving water pools, sometimes in small water ditches with sides containing thick bushes. Adults fly on the shore areas, near trees among plants during May – August months. For the first year, the offspring crawl on the ground feeding on plant based food, after reaching adulthood – small insects. Abundance. Unabundant, mostly few individuals are found. Protection. Preservation of the species proper habitat: water pools, old river beds, ditches, canals and other small swampy water pools. Level of dangerousness: 1. Not dangerous.
